I know ads are a necessary evil. I know they provide a needed source of revenue to this site. But this morning, after reading Mark Sumner's nicely written primer on guns, I scrolled down to see an ad offering to to test my self defense skills with a quiz featuring a creepy guy in a ski mask pointing a gun at me, asking me if I feel lucky.
Jesus H. Christ on a dinosaur, the LAST thing I want to see right now is some masked madman pointing a gun at me. Scratch that. It's something I hope to never see.
There was also an ad for Concealed Carry Magazine at the end of the same post when I clicked the permalink. I know a lot of these ads are automatically generated. But can something be done? I'm pretty sure we are going to be talking about guns for a while now. At least I hope we are. It would be nice to have that conversation without having a virtual gun pointed at me at the end of every discussion.
